While H&M and Target (typically pronounced Tar-jay) have truly conquered the whole high-fashion collabo biz (Alexander Wang, anyone?), Kohl’s has announced that Michelle Smith, the founder of uber-feminine fashion line Milly, will be the next designer to team up with the department store for DesigNation. What makes DesigNation collections so inspired? Kohl’s sends the designers to exotic destinations to spark their creativity! Not a bad deal for previous designers including Peter Som, Catherine Malandrino and Derek Lam. And since Smith was sent to Capri, we can only imagine that the limited-edition skirts and dresses will be enhanced by bold prints and saturated hues, perfect for an island getaway.
