Today marks a Wednesday of very special importance: it’s the FIRST day of my new series, Wark It Wedding Wednesday (say that three times fast)!
Over the next three months leading up to the big day, Erica ON Fashion will be your one-stop-shop for all things wedding to help you prepare for your special day!
And of course in the spirit of bridal and all things fashion, I’m kicking it off with some traditional (with a twist) dresses from Kleinfeld Hudson’s Bay that were featured in Wedding Bells Magazine last week, that I just CAN’T get enough of.
When I think ball gown style dresses, I naturally think of Cinderella, and this dress certainly made me feel like a princess. Covered in pearls, this dress manages to be sexy and timeless all at once. Its drop-waist and fitted bodice create a beautiful shape while the cascading layers of tulle create a cloud-like effect. What made me fall in love with it even more is that it’s Canadian designed, by the uber talented Ines Di Santo.
The look was completed with a statement earring by MM Crystal, also available at Kleinfeld Hudson’s Bay (more to come in accessorizing your dress in the coming weeks).
Another full-skirt bridal gown I had the honour of wearing is a dress designed by Peter Langner, who’s been in the biz for over 20 years and has a keen eye for precision.
What I loved about this dress is the blush colouring, along with the asymmetrical macramé top. It really created a unique approach to an overall timeless silhouette. What was even more unique was the mixing of fabrics. Believe it or not, this dress is made of organza and linen! So not only is it fabulous, it’s also breathable… who woulda thought?!
We completed this alter-worthy look with earrings by Ti Adoro and a hair comb (great alternative to a veil by the way) by Laura Jayne Bridal, both available at Kleinfeld Hudson’s Bay.
Be sure to check in next week for our next weekly WIWW!
