This week’s WIWW is all about a shorter hemline for brides. Too often women put themselves into a box based on what they think they have to wear. With bridal, that’s no longer the case. My experience shopping for the perfect dress proved that you can get exactly what you want, without having to sacrifice your personal style.
Two of my favourite alternative dresses that are all about a shorter length, came from Temperly London and Naeem Khan, both available at Kleinfeld Hudson’s Bay.
This Naeem Khan dress couldn’t be more fun if it tried. Even if you decide this isn’t the style of dress you want to walk down the aisle with, it’s certainly the PERFECT choice for your reception. Think of the photos alone?! MAJOR moment (not to mention he’s designed for style icons like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Michelle Obama, to name a few).
The beading detail is reminiscent of the 1920’s flapper, while still managing to stay modern. The champagne colour of this dress really creates a dynamic shine as the light reflects and bounces off every curve. We paired this little number with MM Crystal earrings, a Moyna clutch and killer crystal stilettos from Badgley Mischka, all from Kleinfeld Hudson’s Bay.
Another hemline I had the joy of trying is the high-low option. This style of dress gives off a relaxed, airy vibe that’s perfect for the boho bride. This one comes from the line Temperly London, who is known for their bohemian, laid back approach to beautiful gowns.
The layered tulle offers movement while still giving off a traditional vibe, while silver embroidery at the waist adds the perfect touch of glamour, highlighting a feminine silhouette. We finished the look with the same killer shoes and MM Crystal earrings.
