When Corey and I were thinking about where to get his suit for our big day, Harry Rosen seemed like the perfect fit. As one of the most influential Canadian fashion company’s for men, Harry Rosen is a true National treasure. For more than 59 years, it has been a main source for the world’s leading menswear designers including Armani, Brioni, Canali, Ermenegildo Zegna, Hugo Boss, Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Brunello Cucinelli, Dolce and Gabbana, John Varvatos, Tom Ford and so many more.
Corey and I visited the Bloor Street flagship store in Toronto (one of the largest menswear stores in the world might I add) a few weeks back, and were lucky enough to have one of Harry Rosen’s best suiting experts, Daniel, to help us find the perfect fit!
The first suit Daniel had Corey try on was a Zegna suit in navy with a subtle stripe. Because our wedding is mid-summer it was important to look at options that could withstand some heat. This suit is 100% wool but built for all-seasons, making it feel light weight and breathable. This particular Zegna suit has a Milan Body cut for a fuller fit, made of Italian fabrics in Switzerland.
He paired it with a Zegna tie also in navy, made of 100% Italian silk, and an Eton shirt from Sweden. This shirt is fantastic because it’s low maintenance: non-iron, machine wash, and hang to dry. No need to rush off to the dry cleaners every time you wear it! For a more dressed-up feel, we chose the french cuff option.
And who can forget shoes?! Men can have just as much fun as women can when it comes to footwear. We opted for a Salvatore Ferragamo mid-brown pebble grained brogue shoe. It’s modern with a classic twist, and is the perfect colour next to a navy suit for summer!
Be sure to tune in next Monday for more men’s suit options for a summer wedding!
