MCM: Summer Suiting for Men

This week’s #MCM is all about summer suiting perfect for any warm-weather occasion – particularly for weddings. Corey and I hit up Harry Rosen for some fresh options for 2015!

Grey PinStripe Suit:

A grey suit is always a smart option for summer – it’s a lighter neutral alternative to black, and offers an array of colour options to go with it! Daniel (our suit guru) suggested a pinstripe option to add an extra touch for something unique. This Zegna suit is made up of 100% wool and high performance Italian fabric, and holds a Torin Body shape for a slimmer fit. We paired it with a merlot tie to add a bit of colour, and finished it with a brown Ferragamo lace-up loafer.

Suit Separates:

For a more casual look, we tried a Canali sea blue casual sport jacket with patch pockets. This beauty is made up of 43% wool,  32% silk, and 25% linen fabric. It’s lightweight, breathable, and can mix and match with just about ANYTHING. It has a Kei body jacket (again creating a slimmer fit) and is made in Italy. We paired it with a Canali heather grey dress trouser made up of 95% wool & 5% elastomer (stretch fabric).

Because we went neutral with a pop in the jacket, we went tieless, and instead added a printed pocket square for some flavour.

The Heather Grey Suit:

Heather grey is an excellent colour for spring/summer as it’s a very light shade of grey, in some cases looking close to an oatmeal or taupe. It’s the perfect choice for an outdoor event, and can work with so many colours – bold or muted, depending on your style. This Armani Collezioni has a G line body for a fuller fit and is made of 100% wool in Italy.

To mix things up we went with a bold tie in a pink shade with an iridescent vibe, making it look almost multi-coloured.

Which one’s your fav? And stay tuned next week as I reveal which suit Corey chose for the BIG DAY! We’ll also chat suiting accessories and of course, my favourite topic – shoes!
